The adapter is built around the excellent Marvell 88SA8052 chipset. Not surprisingly, it works without any compatibility problems of any kind. Successfully used with both 2.5" size HDD and SSD.
- ZALETY:
- + On my motherboard's IDE controller
- + it offers a continuous transfer rate of 106MB/s in reading
- + whether it is connected to an HDD or SSD. The writing performance is even slightly higher
- + but this is probably due to the operating system cache. The quality of the soldering is excellent
- + the presence of rubber pads guarantees that the PCB does not come into contact with the hard disk to which it is connected.
- WADY:
- - The PCB of the adapter is at least as high as the thickness of a 3.5" disc. In very confined spaces
- - for connection to 2.5" size disks
- - this can cause assembly problems. In my case
- - I connected it with less than a one millimetre margin!
